Review EMF Certification

RoHS

All of our saunas comply with RoHS standards, meaning they are free from harmful substances and made with strict environmental guidelines. They are also eco-certified, reducing harmful ingredients and protecting both the environment and the workers who manufacture them.

ETL

Our saunas are ETL certified by Intertek. This mark shows that they have passed rigorous safety and performance testing. With this certification, you can trust that your sauna is safe, reliable, and built to deliver a smooth, worry-free experience.

SAA

All of our saunas are SAA approved, which is the standard certification for electrical products in Australia and New Zealand. This ensures that every sauna meets strict local safety requirements and complies with Australian electrical regulations, giving you confidence in both safety and quality.

CE

While CE certification is not the standard in Australia, it is widely recognised around the world. Many Australian customers look for this mark as proof that a product meets strict health, safety, and environmental standards. All of our saunas carry CE markings for your peace of mind.

VOC

VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are gases that can be released into the air, especially when heated. Some VOCs are harmful and linked to health issues. We carefully select and test all materials, including wood and adhesives, to ensure near-zero VOC emissions. While no sauna can be 100% VOC-free, our levels are extremely low—safe enough to be considered VOC-free for everyday use.

Fumigation & Safety

To ensure our saunas meet international quarantine and transport requirements, we must use methyl bromide for fumigation. However, instead of relying solely on gas, we also apply heat treatment, which allows us to reduce the amount of methyl bromide used. After treatment, International safety guidelines recommend 4 hours of ventilation to remove traces of methyl bromide. At Forge, we go far beyond that, using large industrial fans to air out the wood for 24 hours. This extended process ensures maximum safety and gives us confidence that all traces of gas have been removed. Methyl bromide is a volatile gas that dissipates quickly. After our extended ventilation and additional passive aeration, any residual levels become negligible and continue to fade over time. By the time your sauna reaches your home, it is completely safe, with no traces of gas remaining.

Air Monitoring

The international safety limit for methyl bromide is <5 ppm. Before packaging your sauna, we carefully check gas levels inside and around every sauna with professional detectors. Products are only released once levels are confirmed to be well below this threshold and no detectable residue remains.
